My gas and electric bill dated June 22 was actually online yesterday before they took the site down for maintenance.
The total for 30 days ending on June 18th was $169.99. We used 430 kwh of electricity and 11 ccf’s of natural gas. The gas was a bit high because we had the heat on a bit of the month. We had the A/C on for about 7 days. Then we turned it off and it is still off. It is a comfortable 69 in here.
We have also been cooking some of our meals on the grill which saves on both. We are trying to use as little power as possible. I have been streaming shows on my laptop instead of using the TV.
For comparison our bill for the same period last year was $148.72 for 30 days. We used 387 kwh of electricity and 19 ccf’s of natural gas.
This year’s bill was $21.27 higher than last year. It seems that no matter how much we try to save, the bill just keeps increasing.
Unless we get a new Governor next year, it is hopeless. She just keeps putting in more and more solar and useless wind turbines. It is costing us a fortune. Between her policies and the AI data centers they are building, we will have to start living like people did in the 1800’s.
Hubby still has some chicken parm for dinner and that is what he wants even though it is Father’s Day. I think I will have some soup. Brunch this morning was eggs for me and cereal for Hubby.
I am off to hunt down the deal on the NY strip steaks and a couple of necessities that we need.

Wow, Precious, you did great on your bill. I will report when we get ours. I have the AC off here also this morning. Our water bill came and it was $127.xx with all the watering we have been doing. Hopefully next month the deduction meter will click over. I am not totally sure how the meter works, but it is not a monthly credit. We had a big credit last month and had only started watering, so some was from last year, I guess?
Hubby had a good Fathers Day. He went to a movie with Son and our nephew who lives in our town came for supper. This is the nephew who works for the company Hubby retired from and is the son of his brother who passed. We had a wonderful steak dinner. I had gotten up at 6:30am to bake some potatoes and make homemade chocolate chip cookies. Wanted to use the oven early. We also had a salad and some cut up fruit. Everything was delicious.

Thanks. I am looking forward to hearing about yours. Our A/C is now off. I hate when we have to water because the bill is huge plus they just had a rate increase last bill. I am blaming the AI data centers for that. Fortunately we have had so much rain that we have not had to water yet.
I am glad your Huuby has such a nice day. Good job on baking early. I have an eletric roaster somewhere. If I can find it,I will cook the turkey in it outside to keep the house cool.
