I ran some errands this week. As you can see this week, Top’s had medium eggs, 1 dozen for $2.99 each. There was no limit in the ad. However, when I got there, there was a limit of 2 in my store. So I got the 2 dozen. I already have 5 dozen from Walmart that we are working our way through. So I scrambled these two dozen into ice cube trays that I have and froze them for future breakfasts. You just thaw what you need and cook them up.
Then I went to Great Clips to get my haircut. I found out that my hairdresser who I have been going to for 8 months quit and no one knows if she is working at another salon. So I had to use another stylist and got the worst haircut of my life. It is awful! But it will grow in. Now I am on the hunt for another salon that is close to me.
Next I went to the pharmacy to pick up a prescription for Hubby which only cost me $1.39.
My last stop was at Panera Bread to do the senior Tuesday deal for a dozen bagels. We hadn’t bought these in a year. It was $8.96 but I used my Panera Giftcard that I have had for years.
So I didn’t spend much out of pocket this week which is fantastic.
After running around, I didn’t feel like making dinner. So Hubby made us each a toasted bagel with cream cheese and banana salad with sliced bananas, a sauce made with mayonnaise and a little milk and some chopped nuts sprinkled on top. It was enough.
Today we had a bagel and eggs for breakfast. Tonight’s dinner will be Mojito Lime pork chops and broccoli.
Did you get any good deals this week like my eggs?

Last week we had to be in Denver for a meeting so Chris hit Costco. The only eggs they had were 2 dozen brown for 4.25/dz. Much better than the 60ct here for 6.80 dz (7.50 for 1 dz). We also stocked up on Strip steaks (so good) they netted out to be 12.00 a steak which is a meal for 2. TP, toothpaste, deodorant, laundry detergent and some frozen salmon and Mahi (good prices) rounded out the trip totaling 275.00. I am currently at 715.00 for food, pets, household.
Shelby (cat) had her old girl check up and blood work (435.00), thankfully I only take her every couple years, she does need a dental cleaning though :(.
Ryder (pup number 2) has a messed up eye (Horners Syndrome) and that was 150.00 for him
I had a Rheumatology and Eye appt yesterday (249.00 but submitted to insurance)
Busy week on top of working….love it!
this week
Hi Patti,
You did great on you stock up. Especially the strip steaks. For some reason here the size of the steaks had decreased here. So we usually grill 2 , eat part of them for dinner ans slice the rest to eat for breakfast with eggs the next day. We are actually doing that this morning.
Thanks for mentioning Shelby’s vet appt. Eloise will be a year old in May. She needs a booster. She is an indoor cat only so nothing for bugs. I now have a pretty good idea what her appt. will cost. Where do you get her dental cleaning done?
Hi Precious. I went grocery shopping today at Kroger. They were having a 3 day sale of 25% off the meat in the meat case, but there was nothing in it when I went. It figures.
I got some of the loss leaders and other things we needed. The best deals for us were the milk for $1.39/half gallon, 2 lb cheese for 5.99, land o lakes 8 oz spreadable butter for .99 wyb 5 or more ( I got 6 and put in freezer), and Goody hair accessories for BOGO (for little granddaughter). It was a pretty good trip. Eggs were 4.99 for a dozen.
Hi Chris,
So sorry that you missed the meat sale! Great shopping. Egg are so expensive. I was looking at the price of the GV 60 count box at Walmart today. It is up to $ 27.24. The last time I purchased those there they were $ 19.26.
