I have a busy week. So yesterday I went down to the freezer and brought up all the protein I needed for 7 days. Then I scoured my refrigerator and pantries for the other items that I need for sides. All meals will be eaten at home. Here is my meal plan:
Sunday: Choice of Salmon/or Haddock grilled, applesauce, tossed salad
Monday: Cheeseburgers with sauteed onions, sliced tomatoes, and choice of provolone or pepper jack cheese, strawberries and blackberries for dessert
Tuesday: Homemade chicken soup using chicken and chicken broth that I canned last year
Wednesday: Leftover soup because Hubby needs something soft since he is having an old filling replaced
Thursday: Mojito lime ribeye pork chops, baked potatoes, applesauce and or steamed broccoli
Friday: Shrimp cocktails and tossed salad
Saturday: Grilled chicken on Caesar salad
We will drive to the town south of us twice this week for appointments. Those will be the only days we will use gasoline. I have no intention of grocery shopping this week since we are using up what we have in our home.
Decluttering inside my home is done for now. I do have two very large file drawers in the office that need it. But that will get done in August. We will be getting rid of any papers that we no longer need.
Laundry was done yesterday using cold water and hanging clothes to dry.
Just a quick side note. I have removed a subscriber to my blog. Her negative comments were quite nasty. Since I own my blog, it was easy for me to delete her. A relative said to me she will just use a different e-mail. She can try but she will not get in. Our son has his own server which we use. He has blocked her IP address so the firewall will not let her in. So if you are new here and read comments, I have removed all comments that she has written since the beginning of the blog. If any responses in the comments don’t make sense, just know it was because of the removal. Negativity has no place on this blog. That is all I have to say about it.
Have you made a meal plan this week? I would love to hear what you are having. Sharing helps all of us.

Your menu sounds delicious. Lots of salads for these hot days. We’ve been enjoying salads for dinner too.
Hi Belinda,
Thanks! I’m enjoying not having to cook indoors too much.
What a wonderful job you are doing planning your weekly meals. My adult children are leaving today after a long visit and an out of state family wedding. There were a lot of expenses involved. You are motivating me to get back on track with meal planning as well as healthy eating.
I don’t comment often but I truly enjoy your blog and am glad you are continuing to blog.
It’s unfortunate that there are nasty people out there spreading negativity.
Hi Melanie,
Welcome. Thanks! How nice that you could have time with your children. I love this time of year when there is so much good local produce.
Thanks for your kindness. It is unfortunate. My mother always said: If you don’t have something nice to say, don’t say anything at all.
Hi Precious, I am sorry people are being unkind to you. We are having a staycation this week, so I am not cooking. We have some leftovers and Hubby made some chicken on the smoker for wraps/sandwiches as we need. We will plan to eat out once a day from M-F. Today we visited our state capital for a tour and went to a local German restaurant nearby for lunch. It was all so much fun.
Hi Chris,
Thanks! Your meals always sound so delicious.
I LOVE IT!!!!! Your blog, your rules.
No menu for me this week. I will have business meeting dinners 2 times this week. I’ll do something quick the rest of the week. I always have eggs, bacon, salad options at home, hamburger in the freezer……
Hi Wendy,
You are so right! I have those things most of the time too! I don’t think I will be shopping this week or next. We have so many leftovers. We use up the rest of the bacon that we had for breakfast the other day on club sandwiches for dinner tonight. I think I am going to have to freeze some ham after I make omelets in the morning.
Thanks for posting your menu! I love reading what others are cooking as it jumpstarts my menu plan. We are eating from the freezer the rest of the month to eat through and rotate some of the more dated food.
Monday-Shepard’s pie and salad
Tuesday-Bratwurst, potatoes and green beans
Wednesday-Porkchops, broccoli, rice
Thursday and Friday-Late Dr appts for hubby so eating with son and his family to avoid traffic but will bring some side dishes to help out. Just need to speak with them on how to help out since we’ve invited ourselves. 🙂
We’ve been super busy with life and appointments so taking it slow this week and catching up on cleaning, paperwork and gardening. The weather has been glorious here in So California so we have enjoyed eating outside and just being together. The simple pleasures…
Hi smhuh,
You are welcome. Your menu looked scrumptious. It is about the simple pleasures, isn’t it! Thanks for sharing it all!
Your menus sounds yummy! Hot here too so we’ve been grilling mostly as well. We just got back from our 2 week trip to CA and had a great time except for the heat in Utah and the first part of CA, 108 is insane. A/C kept up though thankfully. 1 pup got stress colitis resulting in 2 vet visits for fluids (1800.00 unplanned), but he’s good now thankfully. We have plenty of groceries left over as I way over shopped, so groceries should be mostly produce and dairy. Without the vet visits total trip expenses were just under 3000. ZERO eating out which was awesome! Cant get a flight, hotel and car that cheaply and we were able to take all the dogs and the cat.
Hi Patti,
Thanks. I’m glad you had a great time on your vacation. We are all putting up with high heat and humidity. We have had many 99 degree days this summer with really high humidity. I feel like I live in FL.
OMG. I am so sorry about your pups. Those bills are awful but I know how much you love your pets. You did well on those vacation expenses. Not having to board the animals saved you a fortune.
